Voice of experience

Living for more than 50 years on this planet has given everyone of us a wealth of memories and experiences – but we don't always have an opportunity to share these with anyone.

The Voice of Experience is the place to put that right.

The Voice of Experience is a shared space where you can unlock and share your dreams, your regrets, your hopes, your disappointments, your achievements with other people across the region.

You don't have to be famous or well known, or to have done dramatic or heroic things – in fact it is often the apparently mundane or ordinary things that happen in our lives that connect us with our fellow human beings.

The anxiety of our first day at school, the excitement of a special birthday party, the memory of a family day on the beach, a regret over a lost love, the anticipation of going to college or starting a new job, the fear of growing old – our minds are a memory bank of thousands of separate events, that will be lost for over if they are not written down.

We all have a natural desire to pass on what we have learnt to the next generation but there isn't always an appropriate place or time in our busy modern lives. We want the Voice of Experience to be an alternative space for recording and sharing what matters in your life.

Words or pictures?

Some people explain themselves best through words, others through images – we want you to feel free to do either.

Express yourself through a poem, or an open letter, or a diary entry, or a short story, or a joke – in fact in anyway that makes sense to you.

Or if you prefer images, send us a photograph, or a drawing or cartoon.
